Jaime Saavedra finally faces criminal charges, and this development inevitably reconnects the paths of the Grandes and the La Presans, as both parties were Jaime's victims.
Though Agnes is aware that Xander is back, she makes it clear to everyone that she couldn't care less. Xander, on the other hand, is eager to face Agnes, so he crashes a masquerade party to see her.
After two years of trying to move on from her first love and heartbreak, Agnes lays eyes on Xander once again. Xander finally tells her how sorry he is, but Agnes walks away.
Realizing that Agnes is still deeply hurt, Xander plays his last card - he sends Agnes to the site of the time machine project.
That night, Agnes steps inside the time machine and is amazed to discover that the Time Machine is an exact replica of La Presa.
But what stunned her the most is to see Xander, sitting on a replica of their iconic bench in La Presa, wearing the exact same clothes he was wearing the last time they talked, and wanting to relive their last conversation sa they can alter their painful ending.
But Agnes expresses her unwillingness to reconcile with him. Despite the failure of his grand plan, Xander is not ready to give up on the woman he loves.
And although he is keeping his distance so as not to upset Agnes, Xander anonymously sends her flowers daily, even if he has to endure the heartbreak of seeing her dispose the bouquet immediately upon receiving it.
Nevertheless, fate seems to be on Xander's side - Professor Frank goes on an emergency leave and asks Xander to be his substitute teacher at Rallos University, Agnes's school.
