Xander shocks everyone when he gives up his birthright as a Grande to live a simple and happy life with Agnes and the farmers.
And as an official La Presan, he pulls out his shares from his joint business venture with friends to prepare for their dream project: The La Presa Resort.
Hand in hand, the farmers build an arc as their first step in pursuing their dream. But their excitement is cut short when they are informed of Jaime Saavedra's intention to buy the land.
Worried about what Jaime might do to get what he wants, Xander asks help from Kate. Jaime, on the other hand, suspects that Xander is manipulating his daughter, so he threatens to send Kate back to London.
The idea of being away again from Xander freaks Kate out, causing her to relapse into her depressive, unstable state.
The peaceful atmosphere at La Presa is disrupted by the deliberate burning of their new arc. Xander confronts his family about this, driving his grandmother Soledad to disown Xander.
And just when Xander thought things couldn't get any worse, Jaime froces him to attend to Kate, who is pining for him like a madwoman.
Meanwhile, Agnes patiently contents herself with the little time her boyfriend could spare her.
Nevertheless, she soon realizes that it will take an enormous amount of strength to endure Xander's absence as he spends time with his clingy, self-destructive ex-girlfriend.
